The Pool Store, 13 John Davenport Drive in Rome, has been meeting the summer fun needs of Rome and Northwest Georgia citizens since 1971.
Tom Fox, who has been with the store for a decade, acquired the business in March 2010.
Fox said The Pool Store is a full-service shop that offers both in-ground pool construction services as well as above-ground pools. The shop also offers spas and a full line of parts, chemicals and pool liners, with a staff that is able to respond to virtually any repair issues.
In addition to Fox, The Pool Store has four other full-time employees.
“My staff has years and years of knowledge,” Fox said. “They’re all veterans who have been in the business of building pools for years.”
Fox said his staff put in the new filtration system at the Rome-Floyd County YMCA and services most of the pools at Rome area hotels.
When business starts to pick up in the summer months, Fox said he expects to bring two additional employees on board.
While the economy has suffered a little in terms of new construction, Fox said that, “work on liners is cranking.”
Like anything else around your house, pools require some maintenance and Fox said his team can do anything associated with keeping your pool cool during the swim season.
The Pool Store is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., though Fox said he’s willing to be a little flexible to meet a customers needs.
