John Raine has taken a hobby and turned it into a business that brings a smile to the face of his clients.
Raine Photography, Suite 900, 1850 Redmond Circle, specializes in portrait type photography. “My background is more toward fashion photography, so I do more of an urban, upbeat style, it’s not your typical standard portrait,” Raine said. Raine does indoor work at his studio in west Rome, along with location work in northwest Georgia and northeast Alabama and southeast Tennessee.
Raine also does wedding photography upon request and will cater the whims of the individual client.
Raine has been working into photography since 1997, but did not make it a full time business until 2009.
He is a big fan of the conversion to digital photography. “My problem is I shoot way too much and when I started with film, I’d shoot 20 or 30 rolls of film on one person,” Raine said. “The cost of developing the film was so high and you didn’t really know what you had until you developed the film.”
Raine Photography is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. “I do set appointments on Sunday if people need it,” Raine said. He’s also more than willing to work after hours by appointment.
