Nine NSU competitors, including women’s co-Freshman of the Year Ashley Aldredge, have made the 2012 All-La. Collegiate Track and Field Team released by the LSWA. The team spotlights athletes with the top three performances in each event from all state four-year track and field programs. Special awards are voted by track sports information contacts at each university, who cannot vote for their own athletes.

Aldredge, whose 166-0 best in the javelin ranked 17th nationally, shared Freshman of the Year honors with Tulane hurdler Estafany Cruz. Aldredge won the Southland Conference championship despite an injury and was 15th in the NCAA’s East Preliminary Round of the national championships.

Also ranking second statewide:sprinter Kendal Taylor in the men’s 200 meters (20.76), the men’s 4x100 relay foursome of Trey Hatton, Karllis Perry, Taylor and Keenan Jackson (40.32); Lady Demon record-setter Consuela Lindsay in the 400 meter hurdles (58.64); and Quiana Griffin, Constance Seibles, Lawana Perkins and Lindsay in the 4x400 relay (a school-record 3:38.26).
