For $100 per ticket, fans will have a chance at taking home the $10,000, which will be offered in the form of a “reverse raffle” at the Aug. 23 event from 6-9 p.m. in Prather Coliseum. All entries will be placed into the drawing, and each ticket pulled will be eliminated. Fans who choose to upgrade to a $125 raffle ticket will have a one-time “reentry” for the grand prize. Also, prizes will be awarded to the first ticket pulled as well as every 20th ticket.
Each raffle ticket also serves as admission for two to the “Games & Fame” event. Fans will enjoy a tailgate-style atmosphere with games, entertainment, food and more surrounding the $10,000 giveaway. Small silent and live auctions will also be part of the event. The attire is casual with shorts, T-shirts and sandals appropriate.
Additionally, fans will have the opportunity to take pictures and visit with NSU coaches and student-athletes. Success on the playing surfaces, in the classroom and in the community during the 2013-14 seasons will be a focal point of the event with a myriad of trophies and awards on display.
“Each of the 14 Division I sports at NSU achieved great things in the past year and it’s important to showcase these accomplishments,” said Greg Burke, NSU’s director of athletics. “While pointing out great things over the past year, this event will also help raise much-needed funds to sustain momentum and help reach the next level of success.”
During the reverse raffle, the holders of the final five tickets drawn will have the chance to negotiate a split of the $10,000. Any holder not present will be assumed to be “all or nothing” with no split, but majority vote of those present will prevail. If no agreement is reached among the final five winners, another ticket will be drawn to eliminate one contestant and negotiations and drawings will continue until the $10,000 giveaway has been completed.
Tickets can be purchased by calling 318-357-5251 or by contacting Associate Athletic Director Adam Jonson at email@example.com. More information is available at NSUDemons.com/win10k.
