Yonna Pasch, director of student activities and organizations at NSU, was recognized by the National Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities with an award in her honor during the group’s annual national conference.

The organization set up the “Yonna Pasch Heart of APCA Award” to recognize her drive and determination in the field of higher education. Pasch was the first recipient of the award.

During the conference, Pasch served as intern coordinator and presented an educational session for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Up ‘til Dawn college program with NSU student Michael Stephenson, executive director of Northwestern State’s Up ‘til Dawn chapter.

Pasch has been director of student activities and organizations for five years and a member of Northwestern State’s staff since 2003. She was previously named assistant director of student activities for Greek life, leadership development and organizations and associate director of student activities and organizations. A Northwestern State alumna, she earned a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management and tourism and a master’s in student personnel services.

The university’s Student Activities Board won second place for its T-shirt design for the 2012 Up ‘til Dawn event at the conference.
