History Bee begins today; public may attend

Northwestern State University will host the Northern Louisiana National History Bee and Bowl Saturday, March 1 at Watson Library beginning at 9 a.m. Admission to the event is free and open to the public.

Participating schools include Winnfield Middle School, Riverdale Academy, Airline High School in Bossier, Minden and St. Mary’s of Natchitoches.

The National History Bee and Bowl are buzzer-based individual and team competitions where students face off by answering questions about history from around the world. Students compete in the varsity or the junior varsity division depending on their grade level. Students compete to qualify for the National Championships in April in Washington D.C. and Arlington, Va.
