Northwestern State University will participate in the University of Louisiana System (ULS) Day at the Capitol, today, Thursday, April 10 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Rotunda of the Louisiana State Capitol Building in Baton Rouge.

“This is a unique opportunity for the University of Louisiana System member institutions to demonstrate the tremendous value each of the nine schools brings to the State of Louisiana during the Legislative Session,” said Jackie Tisdell, ULS assistant vice president for communications. “It will also be an opportunity for the UL System to convey support of the Workforce and Innovation for a Stronger Economy (WISE) Plan, which will strategically align $40 million of new investment in higher education with emerging economic growth sectors. There could not be a better time to inform Legislators about the value of the University of Louisiana System and its strong assets, and we hope to do just that.”

Each of the nine UL System universities will showcase an area of expertise. Northwestern State will highlight its School of Creative and Performing Arts, College of Nursing and School of Allied Health and its programs in Engineering Technology and Computer Information Systems.
