The Northwestern State baseball team announced that tickets to the second annual First Pitch Banquet, set for Jan. 31 at 6:30 p.m. in the NSU Student Union Ballroom, are available for $25.

Corporate sponsorships are also available for $500, and that come with eight tickets, a premium table with eight seats, name or business printed on an insert in each program and verbally mentioned during the event.

"The First Pitch Banquet is a chance for everyone to get together and officially kick off the 2014 Baseball season," said head coach Lane Burroughs who will begin his second season at the helm on Feb. 14. "Our community is so supportive of our program and this is a chance to enjoy a relaxing evening with them.

"We want our players and staff to be familiar with our fans, supporters and alumni and for them to be familiar with us, he said."

The event will feature a video segment highlighting former baseball players in the community, the introduction of the Demon baseball team and Diamond Dolls, a short speech from Northwestern State Athletics Director Greg Burke and Burroughs.

"This community's support of our program is inspiring to our guys. The way they have rallied behind us since day one is very humbling," said the skipper. "We look forward to sharing an evening together of good food, stories and laughs, before the season gets rolling."

Team members will be available for an autograph session along with items to be raffled off and sold.

Jambalaya comes with the ticket and the Master of Ceremonies will be Sports Information Director Doug Ireland.
