The Northwestern State volleyball team will host its spring Demon Digfest April 26 at Point Place Marina on Cane River Lake.

The four-on-four sand volleyball tournament serves as the largest fundraiser for the NSU women’s volleyball team, and will enhance the player’s overall experience, as well as recruiting, team travel, the team summer scholarship fund, and locker room renovations.

All of these components play a large role in helping the team be competitive in the Southland Conference, regionally and nationally, especially after breaking into the top 100 RPI rankings during the 2013 season.

“We’re excited and very grateful to Mr. Robert and the Point Place Marina staff for allowing us to use their venue,” said co-head coaches Hugh and Stephanie Hernesman. “Having this event twice a year has become a staple in this community, and we’re thrilled with the amount of participants and support each year.”

Entry is $75 per team and each team can have up to six players with four playing at a time.
