The St. Amant native was a two-time all-district pick and voted All-Louisiana his senior season.
“Austin is one of those lefties that just know how to pitch and gets hitters out,” said Burroughs. “He's not going blow up any radar guns or velocity charts, but he's just knows what it means to compete and miss barrels.”
His career record with the varsity team was 16-5, including a 10-2 senior year. He was a two-year letterman for Coach Troy Templett.
“He put up tremendous numbers this year for a tradition rich program that knows how to win,” said Burroughs. “He brings added depth to our staff and gives the hitter another look, which is something we are trying to build on our staff.”
Tanner is the son of Kellie and Jeff, and has one sister, Nicole. He graduated with a 3.0 grade point average and will major in business management with hopes of working in a management position in real estate.
