Brison White, who emerged among the country’s most explosive dunkers while becoming an All-Southland Conference honorable mention selection last season at Northwestern State, has signed a professional basketball contract to play in Europe.

White, a 5-10 guard from Wichita, Kan., signed with the Lions Jindrichuv Hradec club in the Czech Republic’s National Basketball League.

He reached the second round in fan voting for the 2014 State Farm Dark Horse Dunker contest in March, and was considered for one of 16 spots in the dunk contest at the Final Four.

He finished 18th in the Southland in scoring (13.1 per game) and 13th in steals (1.4).

He shot 53 percent and averaged 15.4 points in the last 12 regular-season games, contributing to the Demons’ impressive surge down the stretch in the Southland Conference race.

White sank 75 percent of his free throws in the final four months of the season after a rough start, and led the team in scoring seven times as a senior.

White had a career-best 28 points in a win last season over Abilene Christian, making 11 of 14 shots including 4-for-6 on 3-pointers.

He posted career-best totals of seven rebounds three times, including at LSU and in a win at Auburn.

He twice had six assists in a game and made a career best six steals in a win over Central Arkansas as a junior.

In 63 career games with the Demons, White averaged 10.5 points while hitting 45.7 percent of his shots and 65.5 percent on free throws.

He made 40 3-pointers in his career, making 25.5 percent from behind the arc.

He also blocked 13 shots. White averaged 2.4 rebounds per game, 2.1 assists, and 1.5 steals.
