Job description: I teach associate of science in nursing students in their last year of clinical. This includes teaching in the classroom, as well as 14-18 hours a week in the hospital with students as they care for a team of patients. I also teach an online humanistic nursing course which the students take in their last semester. This course is designed to help students look at all aspects of nursing, including cultural and legal issues and helps improve their communication skills.
Why I like working at Northwestern State: I teach on the Leesville/Fort Polk campus and I love the family atmosphere. Working with students for two semesters allows me to really get to know them and to see them grow as nurses.
