Title: Associate Professor; Family Nurse Practitioner

DNP – University of Alabama
Years at NSU: 6
Job description: Graduate faculty in the family nurse practitioner program. Teach in all of the FNP courses, social forces and research seminar.
Why I like working at Northwestern State: With online education the interaction between students and faculty has changed and it has taken a while to adjust to the new interaction this teaching modality lends itself to. Thankfully, NSU has provided lots of education to help elevate teaching strategies related to online education. I especially enjoy working with the student groups performing research and watching them develop and witnessing growth in students as they open up to new ideas in social forces. I enjoy aiding students as they progress from great nurses to great nurse practitioners, and working with fellow faculty performing research and performing presentations locally, nationally and even internationally. Not many jobs would have afforded me the opportunity to do all of these things.
