When the Kiwanis Club met May 9 at the NSU Recreational Complex. Program Chair Dwight Epperson, surprised the mothers of the club with a sweet treat and a flower. The speaker was Evie Posey from the Natchitoches Parish School Board Office who shared information about grants that are being administered throughout our parish. Posey also spoke about her role as First Lady of the City and her love for Natchitoches. Janie Stultz is the Rotary Club Student of the Month for May. She is a senior at Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts where she has maintained a GPA of 3.87 while taking a number of college level classes. She has received academic scholarships to attend Hendrix University in Conway, Ark., and will be on the soccer team. As one of only 24 Ambassadors at LSMSA, she was called on by the administration to speak, lead tours and participate in panel discussions for prospective parents/students and other guests to the campus. Janie also played on the Natchitoches Central soccer team. The Rotary Club presented her with several gifts including a check for $50.
