Provencal Jr. High students in Deanna Elkins’ and Danielle Brewton’s sixth grade classes visited Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition at Sci-Port Dec. 19. Before their field trip, the students read a novel and articles about the sinking of the Titanic. The exhibition features numerous artifacts recovered from the ship’s wreckage housed in galleries recreated to resemble sections of the ship. The exhibition took the students through milestones in the Titanic’s story, including its conception and construction, life on board the ship, wreckage from its sinking and stories of its passengers and crew.
