Weaver Elementary kindergarten classes visited the East Natchitoches Fire Station during Fire Safety Week. Firemen shared safety tips with children, who now know they should have a family meeting place and should stop, drop and roll if they catch on fire. Students also toured the inside of the fire truck. St. Mary’s School fourth graders attended a presentation about bullying. Aline Godfrey and Jessica Mooney gave the students a survey about bullying. After taking the survey, the children crumpled the sheet of paper and then tried to make it flat and crisp again. The lesson was that once bullying has damaged someone, the damage lasts forever.
