In Memory of our
Beloved Daddy
Sonny Boy Black
Our memories still go on of our beloved Daddy. He was a great daddy and a hard-working man.
He served his country in the army from 1947-54 as a corporal.
He was constable for 29 years. He started his business of fishing and fish market in 1958 and still fished until be became very ill in 2001.
He was a board member on the Creston Water System from 1998-99. He was also a board member of the Black Lake Commission for 30 years. He loved Black Lake and his Lord and family and friends.
He was known as the “Fisherman.”
He passed away Jan. 12, 2001. His dear friends, Rev. Dan Chance of Black Lake and Fr. Jacob Thomas, conducted his funeral service. These were two men who were there for our daddy, along with many others. Our dear Daddy is missed by all of us and many others. But memories of him will always be in our hearts and everywhere we look on Black Lake.
He was laid to rest beside his mother, and four brothers at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Fairview alpha.
All his brothers served in the war.
The Black brothers believed in their country and were proud to serve.
We will always remember an cherish our Daddy and thank him for a job well done. May he rest in peace.
Love,
Gail Roy, Pea Wee Slaughter, Donnie Bozo Black, Ricky Black, Linda Brown, all his grandchildren and great grandchildren, and sisters, Cleo Black Walker and Mildred Black Roberts and wife Helga Black
