Despite a first round exit from the Louisiana High School Athletic Association (LHSAA) playoffs, the Natchitoches Central Lady Chiefs continue to gain honors for their play. 11 Lady Chief players made the District 2-5A All-District Team, including four players earning first-team honors. Catcher Molly Simpson, infielder Taylor Alexander, outfielder Kayla Roquemore and utility player Hanna Pardee were named to the first team after having outstanding seasons. The second team featured seven Natchitoches Central players: pitcher Savannah Settle, infielders Morgan Weaver and Tori Leone, outfielders Hailey Raynes and Brittany Roquemore and utility players Blaise LaCour and Sonja Pezant. The Lady Chiefs finished the 2013 season with a 14-11 record and a first round loss to eventual class 5A state champion Sam Houston. It was NCHS’s second straight LHSAA tournament appearance.
