Northwestern State University’s Wellness, Recreation and Activities Center will host Family Fitness Day from 11 a.m-1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7 in which families are invited to visit the WRAC and learn about fitness and recreation programs for all ages.

Guests attending the event can tour the WRAC, talk with Trini Triggs and compete in fitness contest such as an obstacle course and 20-yard dash. WRAC staff will offer group exercise demonstrations for zumba, hip/hop and yoga classes and free chair massages. The first 100 participants will receive tickets to the Northwestern State men’s basketball game that tips off at 2 p.m. Saturday.

“At this time of New Year’s resolutions, we thought it would be great to have a fitness resolution as a family,” said Carmel Bourg, WRAC wellness coordinator. “It will be a fun and exciting day not only for the staff working the event but also for the University and Natchitoches community as well.”

For more information, contact Bourg by calling (318) 357-5331, e-mailing bourgca@nsula.edu or visiting the WRAC website at wrac.nsula.edu.
