Lopez graduated from the Universidad Veracruzana’s department of fine arts where he studied painting. His work has been recognized in painting, drawing and graphics competitions and he has participated in important biennial national and international exhibitions in Mexico, his home country, and abroad. In 2010 he received a FONCA (National Fund for Culture and Arts) grant for graphics in the young creators category. The same year he won first prize in the 17th national contest etching José Guadalupe Posada.
In 2005 and 2009, Lopez received scholarship to participate in the creative and artistic development program in the State of Veracruz, Mexico. To date he has presented 10 solo exhibitions and been included in over 40 exhibitions within the Mexican Republic and in several cities abroad, including Serbia (artistic residence in 2007), Indianapolis, New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Victória, Canada, and London.
