Formerly known as the Louisiana Regional College Career Fair, the event is a collaboration between several college career services directors and offices in the region. In addition to nearly 20 participating colleges and universities, exhibitors will include representatives from local, state and national businesses and industries, law enforcement agencies and branches of the U.S. military. Students who attend should dress professionally, bring a resume and be prepared for an interview.
Northwestern State will also host a Teacher Job Fair for upper level teacher candidates, alternative certification majors, graduate students and alumni from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 17 in the Sylvan Friedman Student Union. Human resource representatives from school systems throughout Louisiana and Texas will be present to interview candidates. Registration is required. Teacher candidates should dress appropriately for interviews, which are prescheduled every half hour.
“Northwestern State is on the map for education, so there is great interest in our teacher candidates,” said Traci LaBom-Norris, assistant director of Counseling and Career Services at Northwestern State.
