Aldredge, whose 166-0 best in the javelin ranked 17th nationally, shared Freshman of the Year honors with Tulane hurdler Estafany Cruz. Aldredge won the Southland Conference championship despite an injury and was 15th in the NCAA’s East Preliminary Round of the national championships.
Also ranking second statewide:sprinter Kendal Taylor in the men’s 200 meters (20.76), the men’s 4x100 relay foursome of Trey Hatton, Karllis Perry, Taylor and Keenan Jackson (40.32); Lady Demon record-setter Consuela Lindsay in the 400 meter hurdles (58.64); and Quiana Griffin, Constance Seibles, Lawana Perkins and Lindsay in the 4x400 relay (a school-record 3:38.26).
