The Chapter Achievement Award is based on excellence in the areas of scholarship, recruitment, new member and member education, community service and philanthropy, alumni programming, ritual practices, chapter operations, campus involvement, risk management practices, social programming, finances and national programming.
Over the past year, the chapter did a “Breakfast on the Bricks” event, providing free breakfast to NSU students. They participated in the Up ‘til Dawn program, which raises money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, assisted the Boys and Girls Club of El Camino Real, visited a local nursing home and did a regular road cleanup.
Advisor Van Erikson, Chapter President Michael Stephenson, Alumni Relations Chair Chas Wilson and Scholarship Chair Matt Spence represented the NSU chapter at the convention.
“The Chapter Achievement Award means a lot to us. We worked hard to get it,” said Stephenson. “The award recognizes all aspects of the fraternity. We are proud and honored. Next year, we will push to get the top award.”
Alumnus Tait Martin was elected grand marshal of the organization’s international board of directors, the Grand Chapter. He is the first member of the Eta Omicron chapter to the elected to the Grand Chapter.
