Job description: Teach and advise in our undergraduate psychology program, primarily on the Shreveport nursing campus. Manage the Department of Psychology website. Participate on university and departmental committees. Contribute to the NSU National Journal of Criminal Justice.
Why I like working at Northwestern State: I have an extensive family history at NSU. Approximately 25 family members have attended college here, most of them receiving undergraduate and/or graduate degrees. My father-in-law, Dr. Bill Shaw, taught at NSU for 30 years and was recently honored with professor emeritus status. My aunt, Dr. MarieShaw Dunn, taught here for 40 years and founded the Child Development Center. My husband, Bill W. Shaw, Jr., has taught at Northwestern State in criminal justice since 2005. I currently have five step-children who attend college at NSU and one son who attends the CDC. I enjoy the camaraderie on campus and appreciate the willingness of several leading individuals on campus to provide insights and guidance as I begin the rest of my life at NSU.
