The Northwestern State volleyball team enjoyed yet another successful Demon Digfest at the inaugural spring sand volleyball tournament last Saturday and Sunday at Point Place Marina.

Made up of three men and two women, The Block Party ended the weekend as the winner after defeating Team Party Jumpers in the championship match.

Co-head coaches Hugh and Stephanie Hernesman and the Lady Demons would like to give a special thanks to Legacy Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, the corporate sponsor of the event, and to Mr. Robert Walker and Point Place Marina.

“We are very grateful to Mr. Robert and his staff for all of their hard work,” said Stephanie Hernesman. “Not only do they donate the venue but also their time and efforts throughout the day to make this event a success.

The tournament had a great turnout with a full field of 12 teams participating in the competition, including some participants who traveled from as far as Shreveport.

The Lady Demons plan to host their fifth annual Fall Demon Digfest sometime in August.
