King, a 6-7 post player, averaged 8.0 points and six rebounds per game with 91 blocked shots his final season in junior college.
“We feel very fortunate to have landed Ryan as a Demon. He adds much needed length and athleticism to our post play,” said McConathy. “He is an outstanding rebounder and shot blocker, and is a lefty that can make plays around the basket.
“Ryan has played in an up-tempo program the last two seasons which will allow him to have a smooth transition into our program,” he said. “He can also guard multiple positions on the floor which is a perfect fit for our defensive style.”
King led Wallace State to an 18-14 record, and was coached by John Meeks. He transfers with a 2.7 grade point average.
“Ryan comes to us well-prepared from playing in a very competitive junior college conference, said McConathy. “Coach Meeks does an outstanding job preparing his players for the next level after junior college.”
