With just over two weeks left until the first kickoff of the 2013 football season, excitement around the Northwestern State football program continues to build.

This season, over 125 new football season ticket accounts have been opened, and have already surpassed last year’s numbers. Season tickets include all six games, with the home opener against Southern University in Turpin Stadium this year.

“We’ve had tremendous support in the local community who have all embraced our ‘Rise Together’ campaign,” said Director of Marketing and Ticket Operations Kyle Barnard.

“Almost 250 new season tickets were sold due to ticket teams in Natchitoches,” he said. “People like Mayor Lee Posey, Wayne McCullen, Jay Sharplin, Jimmy Berry, Keenan Kelly, and Pete Wardell are helping us raise season ticket sales and awareness of the upcoming season.”

The annual Fan Appreciation Day is set for Aug. 22 at 6 o’clock in Turpin Stadium. Ticket pickup will be in NSU Athletic Fieldhouse, where fans can enjoy food and refreshments in the Stroud Room.
