Haley Ballinger of Monroe-Ouachita Christian School, who is one of the top-ranked junior women's tennis players in Louisiana and the south, will play collegiately at Northwestern State, Lady Demons coach Patric DuBois announced Monday.

Ballinger will join a program which has made two NCAA Tournament appearances in the past four seasons. She is accustomed to championship-level competition both in the junior circuit and at Ouachita Christian, where she has been a state finalist in singles and doubles.

She is the No. 3 singles player in Louisiana and 31st in the Gulf States region, according to analysts. This fall, competing as a member of Team Louisiana in the Southern Cup against eight other teams in the Southern region, Ballinger was unbeaten in singles competition.
