Northwestern State offensive lineman Tchissakid Player reports for practice Thursday on the South Team in Saturday evening's Fourth Annual FCS Senior Scout Bowl all-star game, an event featuring 100 top performers from the country's 124-team Division I championship subdivision.

Another Demons senior offensive lineman, Warren Jones, was also invited to the game but turned down the opportunity so he could participate in fall commencement exercises Friday at NSU.

Both Jones and Player are on the ballot for Academic All-Southland Conference with cumulative grade point averages over 3.0 at Northwestern.

Player (6-6, 305) was the top-grading offensive lineman for the Demons (6-6) this season. He was the only one to grade 80 percent or better in all seven Southland games.

Player graded 80 percent or better in nine of 12 games, tops on the NSU team, and earned honorable mention All-Southland accolades.

His season-best performance earned a team-high 90 percent on 67 snaps in the Sept. 7 55-14 rout of eventual Southwestern Athletic Conference champion Southern.

He made 23 career starts at tackle and guard, on both sides of the line, while earning four letters for the Demons.

Saturday's game kicks off at 5 p.m. EST and can be seen on a pay-per-view basis through the FCSSeniorBowl.com website.

A third of the participants in the first three FCS Senior Scout Bowls have signed NFL contracts while 60 percent of the players have advanced to the CFL or another professional league.
