Northwestern State University’s online degree programs were included in the 2014 edition of Top Online Education Program rankings by U.S. News and World Report.Northwestern State’s online bachelor’s programs were ranked 108th and the online graduate program in education was ranked 120th. This is the third year for U.S. News ranking of online programs and the second year for numeric rankings for degree programs.

Northwestern State was one of four Louisiana universities ranked for its online bachelor’s programs and was the top ranked public university in that category.

“Northwestern State’s consistent ranking among the top institutions who deliver online education shows our commitment to serve students wherever they may be,” said Northwestern State President Dr. Randall J. Webb. “Online education has opened up opportunities to students who would not have been able to attend college otherwise.”

The rankings examine student engagement, faculty credentials and training, student services and technology and peer reputation.

“We are pleased to be recognized by U.S. News for our outstanding online programs,” said Dr. Darlene Williams, vice president for technology, research and economic development.  “The quality of our programs and services are a true testament to the dedicated faculty and staff of Northwestern State.”

Thirty-four degree programs at Northwestern State are available online. Northwestern State, along with the eight other University of Louisiana System institutions, has an online bachelor’s program in organizational leadership. NSU is also offering a concentration in public safety administration. Visit ensu.nsula.edu for information on classes.
