Registration for the summer and fall 2014 semester will begin next week at Northwestern State University and students are encouraged to begin signing up for classes as soon as possible.

Northwestern State students can begin the registration procedure by meeting with their advisor. They can begin signing up for spring classes through NSU Connect on March 17-21.

Graduate students, authorized ADA students with a permit, honor students with a cumulative 3.5 grade point average and 12 or more hours and student-athletes can begin registering on March 17.

Seniors can start signing up on March 18 and juniors can begin registering on March 19. On March 20, sophomores can begin scheduling summer and fall classes and freshmen and non-traditional students (adults 25 and over) with less than 30 hours can start registering on March 21.

“Early registration is essential for students—especially for those who need upper level courses,” said Dr. Lisa Abney, provost and vice president for academic and student affairs. “If students wait to register for a class, the class may fill quickly, so it’s important that students get enrolled as soon as possible.”

Early registration for the summer 12-week session is available through May 18. Students can enroll for the summer eight-week session and the first four-week session until June 1. Early registration for the second four-week session is available through June 29.

Early registration for the fall semester takes place until August 17.

Students who register for the fall semester between March 17 and May 2 will be eligible to win a weekly drawing for a $25 gift card.
