History Bee and Bowl attracts students to NSU

Airline High School had a strong showing at the North Louisiana History Bee and Bowl held at Northwestern State University.

Carter Clawson of Airline won the varsity History Bee category followed by classmates Thomas Johnson, Abih Shah and Kaitlin Simpson.

All four qualified for the National History Bee.

Thomas Willford of St. Mary’s won the junior varsity History Bee followed by Eric Haacker of Airline. Willford and Haacker qualified for Nationals.

Airline Team A won the team varsity category edging out Airline Team C. Trinity of Longview and St. Mary’s were third and fourth.

Each team along with Airline Team D made the nationals.

In junior varsity team, Airline Team E defeated Winnfield Middle School A.

The National History Bowl and Bee will be in Washington D.C. and Arlington Va. April 26-27.
