Northwestern State’s highly successful spring sports teams compete at home on Easter weekend.

The first-place Demon baseball team hosts Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in a Southland Conference series Thursday and Friday evenings at 6:30 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. at Brown-Stroud Field.

The first-place Lady Demon tennis team is home Friday at 11 a.m. against Lamar and Saturday at 11 a.m. against Sam Houston State at the Jack Fisher Tennis Complex, with a chance to wrap up the Southland championship next Tuesday at 11 a.m. at home against Southeastern Louisiana.

The Lady Demon softball team, which is aiming for a second straight NCAA Tournament appearance after scoring 28 runs in three games last weekend, is home Friday night at 5 p.m. for a doubleheader and Saturday at 1 p.m. against Incarnate Word at the Lady Demon Diamond.

Easter egg hunts will be held prior to Saturday’s baseball and softball games. Youth baseball and softball players can get into Friday’s games for $3, and if they’re wearing their uniform tops, they can line up on the field with the NSU players for the national anthem.

There’s also a coupon in this edition of the Natchitoches Times for a discounted ticket, hot dog and drink at Thursday’s baseball game.
