Funeral services honoring the life of Charles Dyess Sr., 75, were at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 15 at Spring Ridge Baptist Church in Pleasant Hill with the Rev. Danny Williams and the Rev. Clayton Dyess Jr. officiating. Burial followed at Spring Ridge Cemetery in Pleasant Hill. Charles was born Nov. 20, 1941, to Edward and Emma Dyess and entered into rest July 13, 2017. Preceding Charles in death are his parents, Edward and Emma Dyess; grandchildren, Joseph Dyess Jr. and Skye Dyess; great-grandchild, Jackie Jackson; nephew, Edward Blankenship; and niece, Sharon Blankenship. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Vera Flores Dyess; sons, Clayton Dyess Jr. and wife Alisha, Joseph Dyess and Lloyd Dyess and wife Lisa, all of Marthaville; daughters, Christine Strebeck and husband Ricky of Many, and Valerie Gonzalez and husband Gene of Marthaville; daughter-in-law, Tamra Palmer; sister, Mary Ruth Blankenship and husband Edgar of Shreveport; grandchildren, Shannan, Timothy, Nathan, Joshua, Rebecca, Michael, Kaelynn, Abigail, Danielle, Dwain, Haylie, Dakota, Christopher, Emma, Elijah, Lacy, Brenda, Edward, Daylee, Terry, Emery and Xander; and great-grandchildren, Joshua, Titus, Zane, Kambriella, Kara, Kason, Riley, Tucker, Twila, Noah, Bailey and awaiting the birth of another great-granddaughter. Honoring the life of Charles as pallbearers were Jeremy Williams, Sean Jackson, Nathan Dyess, Timothy Dyess, Christopher Strebeck and Dakota Strebeck. Honorary pallbearers were Jack Dyess and Edgar Blankenship.
