Lela Mae Murray “Teet” (Little Mother) Dalme joined her loved ones in Heaven Saturday, July 15, 2017. Services were Tuesday, July 18 at 2 p.m. at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home Chapel in Natchitoches with the Rev. George Pookkattu officiating. Burial followed at Memory Lawn. Lela, 89, was born to Dewey and Elsie Murray Aug. 14, 1927. She married the love of her life, Richard B. “R.B.” Dalme Dec. 24, 1946. Of their marriage she gave birth to their five beloved children. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She was very proud of her family and always put them first. She touched so many lives with her nurturing spirit. Through the years she helped raise and loved so many other children. She loved to cook and prepare meals for family and friends on holidays and any other time. She loved to dance, especially with R.B. They would waltz across the floor like they were on a cloud. She will be truly missed by her family and friends. Lela is survived by her five children, Richard B. Dalme Jr. and wife Beverly, Gilda Parker and husband Jessie, Archie Dalme and wife Peggy, Herbert Dalme and wife Martha and Anita Dove and husband Rick; sisters, Lavada Tanner, Dorothy Martin, Betty Davenport, Billie Pittman, Jo Anne Smith, Lucy Murphy, Patricia Edmonson, Mary Guin and Elizabeth Guice; brothers, William “Dubie” VanHook and Walter VanHook; 14 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard “R.B.” Dalme; father, Dewey Murray; mother, Elsie Wilson; sisters, Katherine McKenzie, Helen Jones, Elsie Tyler and Bertha Edwards; and brothers, Harry VanHook, Curtis Murray, Homer Murray, John D. Murray, A.M. Murray, Tony Murray and Ray Murray. Pallbearers were James Parker, Richard Lynn Dove, Richard Dalme III, Randy Dalme, Adam Dalme and Drake Harrington. Honorary pallbearers were Clay Johnson, Jeff Tynes, Keith Warford, Branton Warford, her great-grandsons and her many nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Mary Long, Dr. Chris Ingram, Dr. Michelle Mayeaux, Dr. Warren Botnick, Dr. Dharam Gurwara and the nurses and other staff of the Natchitoches Regional Medical Center and the Louisiana Extended Care Hospital of Natchitoches.
