Mrs. Judith “Judi” Lynn McCallister died peacefully, surrounded by family July 19, 2017, in Flora at the age of 78. Mrs. Judi was born Jan. 8, 1939, in Macon County, Ill., to Wayne and June Finch. She married Ronnie Mack McCallister Sr. Feb. 21, 1967, in Natchitoches. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and a woman who was dedicated to taking exceptional care of her entire family. She was a lifelong fan of Elvis Presley with whom which she shared a birthday, and visited Graceland in 2001. She enjoyed shopping with family and friends, always bringing home special gifts for her family. Mrs. Judi enjoyed her time spent at home sitting on her porch swing and riding on the paper routes with her daughter and son-in-law. Spending time with her grandchildren was always her favorite; making Christmas and holidays extra special with big gifts and preparing meals for her family. Mrs. Judi is survived by her husband, Ronnie McCallister Sr. of Bellwood; brother, Kevin Finch of Lawrenceville, Ga.; sons, Shannon McCallister and wife Jeannine of Celina, Texas, and Storm Boles and Denise Tiffany of Natchitoches; daughter, Dawn Ferguson and husband Curtis of Bellwood; grandchildren, James Ferguson and wife Amanda of Flora, J.D. Ferguson and wife Allee of Natchitoches, Brandon Ferguson and fiancé Scarlet White of Bellwood, Molli and Britt Boles of Decatur, Ill., and Riley and Mackenzie McCallister of Celina, Texas; great-grandchildren, Tyler Ferguson of Flora and Kaylee, Avaree and Laycee Ferguson of Natchitoches; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Judi is preceded in death by her parents Wayne and June Finch; brother, Tim Finch; son, Ronnie Mack McCallister Jr.; grandson, Eric Ferguson; and granddaughter, Selena Ferguson. Funeral services for Judith Lynn McCallister will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 24 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Morgan McCallister officiating the ceremony. The interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Hagewood. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home Sunday, July 23. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Mrs. Judi’s life. Pallbearers will be James Ferguson, J.D. Ferguson, Brandon Ferguson, Tyler Ferguson, Hunter Adams and Lynn Oxley. Honorary pallbearers will be Riley McCallister, Kaylee Ferguson, Mackenzie McCallister, Avaree Ferguson and Laycee Ferguson. The family would like to thank the staff of Northwestern La Cancer Center, of Natchitoches, Hospice of Natchitoches and Thompson Home Health for their dedication and love shown towards Mrs. Judi.
