Mrs. Rebecca Joyce Garner, 68, of Winnfield passed away Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017.
Born Monday, Jan. 17, 1949, in Goldonna she was retired as secretary with Goldonna Elementary/Jr. High School (1982-2011). She also served as secretary for over 20 years for the Village of Goldonna as well as for the River of Life Worship Center.
Mrs. Garner was preceded in death by her parents, Huey Dale and Merna Vae Godwin Rowell; husband, Thomas Guin Garner; siblings, Sue Baxter, Billy Rowell, Jimmy Rowell, Norma Wendt, Gail Morgan and Lavora Ann Rowell; and grandson, Caleb Smith.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Amy Clark (James) of Winnfield, Joy Smith (Randy) of Drummonds, Tenn., Jennifer Smith (Wade) of Goldonna and Jonathan Garner of Winnfield;
grandchildren, Seth Winn, Kacee Barton, Justin Winn, Sam Smith, Tommy Smith, Isaac Smith, Micah Smith and Ethan Smith; great-grandchildren, Jaylon Winn and Cole Barton; and siblings, Cindy Bedgood, Johnny Rowell and Terry Rowell.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6 at First Assembly of God Church with the Rev. George Procell, the Rev. Randy Smith and the Rev. Shaun Garner officiating. Interment will follow in Goldonna Cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.
Serving the family as pallbearers were Daniel Stewart, Mike Baxter, Eugene Garner, Terry Bedgood, Wade Smith, Dale Rowell, Sam Smith and Ethan Smith.
