A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Vicki Kramer Gahagan at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9 in the Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, Natchitoches, with the Rev. Blake officiating, and under the direction of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home. A private family interment will follow.
Visitation will be at the Basilica Wednesday, from noon until time of service.
Vicki Kramer Gahagan, 65, a native of Alexandria and longtime resident of Natchitoches, passed away Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017, in the Natchitoches Community Care Center.
She is preceded in death by parents, Victor and Nellie Couvillion Kramer, and her sister, Lydia Kramer Moriarty.
Vicki was a graduate of Bolton High School in Alexandria and then earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education and Library Science from North East University in Monroe. She taught school in Plaquemine and St. Mary’s High School in Natchitoches. Vicki worked for the Natchitoches Parish School Board and was active in several educational organizations.
She was also very involved in several local organizations, including Les Amies Service League of Natchitoches, Parents of the Lab School and the Natchitoches Northwestern Symphony Society.
Vicki is survived by her husband, Fred S. Gahagan Sr. of Natchitoches; her children, Victor Kramer Gahagan of Natchitoches and Fred S. Gahagan Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Natchitoches; two granddaughters, Tenley Marie Gahagan and Hanna Ruth Gahagan; two sisters, Charlotte Kramer Riche and husband Mike of Raceland and Mary Kramer Kramer and husband Bernard of Monroe, Mich.; along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers honored to serve will be Henry C. Gahagan Jr., Henry C. Gahagan III, Dr. John Sandifer, John Vandersypen, Mark Dawson and David Walker.
