A Mass of Christian Burial for Larry Dean will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10 at St. Joseph’s Chapel in the Trichel Community with the Rev. Louis Sklar serving as celebrant. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 9 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Recitation of the Holy Rosary by the Rev. George Pookkattu will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home chapel.
George Larry Dean, 71, and a resident of the Trichel Community passed away Sunday, Aug. 6, 2017. He was born July 23, 1946, to George Dean and Maurine Patterson in Shreveport. Larry proudly served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his father, George W. Dean; son, Jason L. Dean; brothers, Wade and James Patterson; sister, Dorothy Antee; and a nephew, Travis Springer.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Wendy Roshto Dean; sons, Jonathan Dean and Josh Dean and his wife Laura; mother, Maurine Patterson; sister, Effie Philen and husband Gerald; and brother, David Patterson and wife Paula. He was blessed with three grandchildren, Adrian, Leila and Dylan Dean.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers include David Patterson, Kevin Patterson, James Philen, Bo Hardy, Archie Dalme and Dan Rachal.
His grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
