Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Detectives are investigating the theft of several parish road signs in the Fairview Alpha area.
A private landowner found the signs dumped on his property in the 4000 block of La. Hwy 480 Wednesday.
Patrol deputies and Natchitoches Parish Highway Department responded to collect the signs.
The signs are believed to have been stolen within the last couple of nights from the areas of Davis Springs, Coulee Loop, Collier Hill and Billy Holman Roads.
On Thursday morning, Aug. 10, detectives spoke with parish highway officials concerning the thefts. An investigation is ongoing.
Road signs not only assist motorists but they also assist law enforcement, EMS and fire by saving valuable seconds when responding to emergency calls and calls for service.
