Flash Flood watch in effect for Natchitoches Parish

Monday, Aug. 28 2017-National Weather Service Shreveport LA has issued announced a Flash Flood Watch has been extended through 7 PM Thursday in Deep East Texas eastward over Toledo Bend with additional parishes now included in North Central Louisiana including Natchitoches, Winn and Grant-including the cities of Natchitoches, Winnfield, Colfax,
Montgomery, and Dry Prong.

FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING

Heavy rainfall, associated with Tropical Storm Harvey located over southeast Texas, will continue to occur within the strong outer rain bands. These heavier rain bands may train over the same areas, increasing the likelihood of flash flooding.

Flooding of roads, low lying and poor drainage areas will be possible. If encountering flooded roadways, remember to turn around, don`t drown.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
