Christian Baptist Church presented the first J.D. Garrett Memorial Scholarship to Megan Berry Sunday, Aug. 20. Berry is a 2017 graduate of Natchitoches Central High School. She is attending Northwestern State University this fall and pursuing a Bachelor of Social Work degree. Berry was presented a certificate and plaque by Elder Otis Jackson, pastor of Christian Baptist Church. The scholarship award was presented to Megan by Edward Scott III and Yvette Ceasar-Williams, and widow, Rose Garrett, on behalf of all the children of Coach Garrett.
