Supt. Dale Skinner announces Natchitoches Parish schools will remain closed Thursday, Aug. 31 and Friday, Sept. 1 due to weather events associated with Hurricane Harvey. Student, staff and faculty safety is first and foremost.
School will be out Monday, Sept. 4 in observance of Labor Day.
Students will return to class Tuesday, Sept. 5.

All Northwestern State University campuses will remain closed Thursday and Friday because of dangerous conditions created by Tropical Storm Harvey.
Housing, dining facilities, University Police and other essential services will continue on the main campus at Natchitoches during times when the university is closed. Classes will resume Tuesday, Sept. 5.
•ST. MARY’S
Closed Thursday. As of 3 p.m Wednesday plans are to open Friday. A statement will be issued Thursday in reference to Friday. “We are committed to acting in the best interest of our students and staff and believe that this closure is necessary to ensure their safety.” Andrea Harrell
