Kisatchie Senior Passes will go up in price after Aug. 27. Currently, the price for a lifetime senior Pass is $10. After Aug. 27, the price will jump to $80.

With a Senior pass, you have free access to over 2,000 federal recreation sites. Each pass covers entrance fees at national parks and national wildlife refuges as well as standard amenity fees at national forests and day use fees for a driver and all passengers in a vehicle. Senior passes can be purchased at any Kisatchie National Forest Ranger Station.

The Kisatchie Quilt Guild met last week. For the August meeting, members were asked to bring their favorite quilt they have finished in the past, plus other quilts for their show-and- tell program.

Martha Jordan brought a large Diamond Patch quilt that she made from her 1930s fabric. Martha also brought three other quilts including Puppy Love‚ Flower Garden and Little Boys ’A Fishing patterns.

Cathy Gray brought her quilt with a July Jubilee pattern. Cathy used the blocks that she won at last months meeting to design the quilt. Cathy also showed one of her favorite quilts from the past, Trip Around the World‚ made with polyester fabric.

Mary Ortega brought an apron made by her granddaughter and also her favorite quilt, ‚Springtime in the Rose Garden. Billie Ann Bates brought an older quilt that she made, Year With Sun Bonnet Sue. Quilters meet the third Thursday of each month to show off their quilts and see what other members have been working on.
