Provencal Christian Academy students are looking forward to the first day of school Monday, Aug. 28.

The PCA Knights will kick off the volleyball season Friday Sept. 8 when they travel to Victory Baptist. The first local game will be Sept. 15 when they face Hope at the Louisiana School for Math Science and the Arts. PCA will play at LSMSA Sept.19 and Sept. 21. Their first game in Provencal will be Sept. 22. Community members are encouraged to come out and support the Knights volleyball team. Basketball season will kick off with an away game Jan. 16 and their first home game is will be Jan. 19.

Provencal community members have the chance to support a nearby community by participating in a pastime of many, many community members. Robeline Heritage Festival organizers are hosting a corn hole tournament Sept. 9 in the Marthaville School Gym at 8 a.m. The entry fee is $40 per team. The corn hole fun will continue weekend of Sept.15-16 in Provencal with a fundraiser benefiting Robert Luther Moss at the old Provencal gym beginning Friday evening. There will be a man-on-man tournament at 6 p.m. with a $25 per person entry fee. Games will be played until a winner is crowned.

The fun will begin again on Saturday at 9 a.m. with a team tournament. There is a $40 entry fee per team. Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place teams. The fun continues the following weekend in Natchez with the Antonio Esparza Memorial Rodeo. The rodeo will Sept. 22-23. Antonio’s Dream Arena is located on Hwy. 1 near 3J’s Fourway near Natchez. The Sabine River Rodeo Company will provide the stock for and cowboys and the La. Rodeo Cowboy Association and the Tri-State Rodeo Association will participate.
