The Natchitoches Police Department participates in the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” program with the La. Highway Safety Commission.
Natchitoches Parish ranks in the top 25 parishes in total fatal and injury crashes. Impaired driving and failure to use seatbelts are the two leading causes of injury and/or fatality crashes across the state. The Natchitoches Police Department will join many other agencies across the state in participating in the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission’s “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign.
The Natchitoches Police Department will use a combination of sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols to identify and apprehend those drivers that are impaired. These patrols and checkpoints will occur from Aug. 18-Sept. 3.
