Mr. and Mrs. John E. Ackel of Natchitoches announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Hillary Elisabeth, to Dillon Anthony Bodden, son of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Bodden of Lafayette.
Hillary is the granddaughter of Mrs. Melba Ackel, the late Mr. John Latief Ackel of Natchitoches, and Mrs. Sophie S. Hill, and the late Mr. John H. Hill of Plainview.
She is a graduate of St. Mary’s Catholic School and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She is employed as a Registered Nurse at Lafayette General Hospital in the Intensive Care Unit.
Her fiancé is the grandson of Mr. Kenneth Bodden, the late Mrs. Jessie Bodden of Groves, Texas, and Mrs. Joyce Thibodeaux, and the late Mr. Tony Thibodeaux of Lafayette. A graduate of St. Thomas More Catholic High School, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He is employed with Woodgroup Oil and Gas.
Father Craig Scott will offer the Nuptial Mass and witness the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony in The Minor Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017. A reception will follow at the Natchitoches Events Center.
After a honeymoon to the Cayman Islands, the couple will make their home in Lafayette.
