Funeral services for Robbie R. Vance, 70, of Black Lake, were at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, at Family Worship Center, Black Lake, with Bro. Sam Chance, Bro. Silas Dufrene and Sister Linda Chance officiating. Interment followed in Black Lake Full Gospel Cemetery under the direction of Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home. Visitation was 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday at Family Worship Center.

Mrs. Vance was born Sept. 11, 1946 in Pleasant Hill and passed away Sept. 4, 2017. Mrs. Vance worked for Wal-Mart in Natchitoches for a number of years, a job that she thoroughly enjoyed. She later became a very dedicated worker in her church, Family Worship Center, where she was actively involved in camp work, events, and serving in the kitchen. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all those who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Vance; her parents; and one sister, Barbara Linder.

Mrs. Vance is survived by one son, Kerry Rhodes of Black Lake; two grandsons, Mackanen Rhodes of Black Lake and Kyle Garsee of Natchitoches; one nephew, Dustin Linder of Black Lake; and one niece, Marlo Horn of Jasper, Texas.

Pallbearers were Jason Foster, John “Red” Wallace, Sam Smith, Wayne Tarver, Clay Jones and Keith Guidry. Honorary pallbearers were Greg Garsee and Michael Tarver.
