Northwestern State University students, faculty and staff gathered for a moment of silence to commemorate Patriot Day and remember lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001. ROTC Cadets lowered the U.S. flag to half-staff and gatherers sang the national anthem. The program was organized by Interim Vice President of the Student Experience and Dean of Students Frances Conine.

This Friday, at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 15, the NSU community will gather at the Freedom Tree on the lawn of the President’s Residence for POW/MIA Day observation, annually observed the third Friday of September. The public is invited.
