Northwestern State University Theatre and Dance will perform the musical “Stars of Tomorrow” on Sept. 27 – Oct. 1 in Theatre West. Show time is 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 27-30 and 2 p.m. on Oct. 1.

“Stars of Tomorrow” features a cast of 12 aspiring Broadway performers presenting a concert of iconic scenes from their favorite Broadway musicals. The concert, spanning “A Chorus Line” to “Dear Evan Hansen” features pianist Daniel Ley, choreography by Rebecca Lambert Morgan and music and stage direction by Dr. Corey Trahan.
“I had the cast members provide their top three dream roles from Broadway musicals and we built a staged concert around their choices,” said Trahan. “I find the performers are truly invested when they are performing something they love.”
The cast is Emily Ricalde, Dwight Robinette and Addison Hinson of New Orleans, Sean Grady of Leesville, Payton Hartwick, Asher Van Meter and Thomas Hadzeriga of Edmond, Oklahoma, Madison Fry and Grace Sellers of Baton Rouge, Cassidy Giddens of Shreveport, Joey Carroll of Watson and Annie Wright of Belle Chasse.
The production team is stage manager Nikki Lopez of Belle Chasse, assistant stage managers, Anna Gautreaux of Houma, and Amanda Wilburn of New Orleans, lighting designer Hailey Pomes of Covington, sound designer Rayshaughn Armant of New Orleans, costume designer Ka’ihe Fisher of Wahiaw, Hawaii, and percussionist Addison Pellegrino of Burleson, Texas.
